This conference provides unparalleled lectures from world-renowned surgeons and leading experts in the field, attracting medical students and doctors from across the UK and all over the world.

Keynote Speakers

Dr Jamie Coleman

Dr Jamie Jones Coleman is a trauma and acute care surgeon at Denver Health; and, Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. She is double boarded in both general surgery and surgical critical care, as well as a Fellow at the American College of Surgeons.

She is a medical media expert, public speaker and, avid writer. Contributing to Huffington Post and the US News & World Report.

Dr Coleman's work has also been featured on KevinMD, LinkedIn, and feminEM.

Professor Peter Hutchinson

Professor Peter Hutchinson is an NIHR Research Professor at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Cambridge and, Honourary Consultant Neurosurgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.

Professor Hutchinson's research interests include traumatic brain injury, multimodality monitoring in neurocritical care and, functional brain imaging.

Hutchinson holds many positions as the: Neurosurgical specialty lead at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Chair of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS) Neurotrauma Group and, Chief Medical Officer of the British Grand Prix.

Dr Helgi Johannson


Dr Helgi Johannsson is a consultant anaesthetist and Clinical Director for theatres, anaesthesia, pre-op assessment and pain at St. Mary's Hospital, one of the largest trauma centres in London.

He was the lead for the anaesthetic team at St. Mary's Hospital during the tragic Grenfell Tower Fire incident in 2017, providing Dr Johannson a significant understanding of trauma care.

Recently Dr  Johannsson was elected to the Royal Colledge of Anaesthetists, taking a keen interest to training. His interests include: education, simulation, trauma, Upper GI anaesthesia and social media in medicine.

Dr Johannsson will be sharing his extensive experience of airway management in trauma care in his lecture.


Surgical Amputation Workshop


Dr. Hooman is a DPM Physician who obtained his Degree in Podiatry Medicine from Temple Medicine in Philadelphia, specializing in Foot and Ankle Medicine with fellowship board certification in wound care. Dr.Hooman completed a one-year surgical internship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital, New York.

He is a proud graduate of UT Health , School of Medicine with an MSc degree in Clinical Investigation. He has completed his thesis on Diabetic Nephropathy, Amputation and Surgical Patient Safety. He received an additional year of training in Healthcare Policy and Patient Safety. 

Dr.Hooman holds a full time position of Assistant Professor at Western University of Health Sciences.
