Imperial College Surgical Society proudly presents Plastic Surgical Skills Day 2019. With medical meat and close supervision from experienced plastic surgeons, we hope to inspire you to pursue a career in plastics.

Delegates will have the opportunity to practice suturing, scar revisions, flaps and full thickness skins grafts. We will also have lectures on key aspects of plastics, giving you an insight into the speciality.

Skin Grafting - 13:00

Skin grafting is an essential technique for repairing large unhealing defects. Learn the various approaches the skin grafting, practicing a full thickness graft during this workshop.

Local Flap Reconstruction - 14:00

Local flaps involve the transposition and spreading of nearby tissue to cover a defect. In this workshop, repair your damaged skin by carefully manipulating local skin for an excellent cosmetic appearance.

Free Flap Reconstruction - 15:00

For larger defects, whole areas of tissue will need to be moved to an area, along with the skins blood supply for graft function. Meticulously dissect your flap and suture it into its new location.

Scar Revision - 16:00

Extensive incisions and improper closure result in unwanted large scars, leading to your patient's dissatisfaction. Using a variety of techniques, learn the key steps to revising the appearance of scars.
